Nutrition and Hydration Week – Tips to Boost Your Practices!

Here at Blue Stream Academy, we are celebrating Nutrition and Hydration week, a week dedicated to bringing people together to create energy, focus, and fun to educate people about the benefits of food and drink for health and wellbeing.
With around 3 million people at risk of malnutrition in the UK, Nutrition and Hydration Week reaches out to health and social care professionals and aims to promote good exercises that can help prevent malnutrition and dehydration.
In honour of this global movement, we thought we’d highlight some good nutrition and hydration tips to help boost your daily practices!
Let’s get started.
1.Little & Often
Are you drinking the right amount? Adults need around 1.5 to 2 litres of water per day which works out at around 8-10 glasses! A good way to stay on top of your daily intake is by keeping a water bottle with you and drinking from it little but often to build on the habit of drinking enough.
2.Meal Prep
Do you find yourself munching on snacky foods throughout the day, or reaching 5pm and realising you haven’t yet eaten? You’re not the only one! Meal prepping is a great way to stay on top of your food intake and by spending a couple of hours each week preparing your meals, you’re not only saving money but ensuring you’re getting a healthy, balanced diet.
3.Switch it Up
It may be hard to motivate yourself to drink water if you don’t enjoy the taste. Try adding slices of fruit to your water, such as orange or lemon to add a little flavour!
4.‘Eat a Rainbow’
They say that if you eat a rainbow, you’re consuming a variation of different coloured fruits and vegetables which are providing a range of healthy nutrients!
