New Postural Care Training Course!

Blue Stream Academy is pleased to announce the release of a new Postural Care eLearning module.

This module is now live on our GP, Dental, Nursing & Care Home, Hospice and Urgent & Tailored Care eLearning suites.

Our new Postural Care module addresses how to protect against body shape changes, destructive and therapeutic positioning, and day and night-time care. It also covers how destructive body shape changes can affect a person's short- and long-term health and what equipment is available to help protect a person's posture. The module includes information about how to check for body shape changes, and simple tests for checking body alignment is correct (for the individual).

This module covers the following topics:

- what is postural care and why is it so important?

- why does postural care need a 24-hour approach?

- the short- and long-term effects of body shape changes

- the effects of poor posture on different areas of the body

- the different day and overnight postural care aids that are available, and how they can be implemented to protect an individual’s body shape

- the different ways of managing spasticity.
