Lone Working | Healthcare eLearning

New Lone Working eLearning Course for Health and Care Professionals
Blue Stream Academy Ltd. are pleased to announce the release of our new 'Lone Working' module. This module will be added to our GP, Dental, Hospice, Nursing and Care Home and Urgent Care eLearning suites.
Lone workers are those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision in any environment where there are no other workers.
Lone workers can be vulnerable and at increased risk of physical or verbal abuse and harassment, accidents, theft, manual handling incidents etc. simply because they don't have the immediate support of colleagues or security staff.
It is therefore important that staff members understand how they can keep themselves safe whilst working alone on site, off site, after hours or whilst travelling.
Employers should also be aware of their responsibilities for their employees and must ensure that policies, procedures and risk assessments are implemented to ensure staff members are safe whilst working alone.
Our 'Lone Working' module covers topics including:
- what a lone worker is
- employer's and employees' responsibilities
- the hazards and risks associated with lone working
- the use of risks assessments
- how to stay safe whilst working alone
- the procedures to take in an emergency.
