New Safeguarding Adults Level 3 eLearning course for Health and Care Professionals

Blue Stream Academy Ltd. are pleased to announce the release of our new 'Safeguarding Adults Level 3' module (Levels 1 and 2 have also been updated and will be re-released alongside Level 3). Adult Safeguarding is defined as: "protecting an adult's right to live in safety, free from harm, abuse and neglect". Everyone needs to work together to prevent and stop, both the risks and experiences of abuse and neglect, whilst ensuring the adults wellbeing is promoted including, having regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action. We all have a part to play in securing this for the adults in our care, particularly for those who are at risk. Safeguarding training is vital when working with adults who may be at risk, it helps to ensure that employees, managers and volunteers can carry out their duties knowledgeably and safely. Our 'Safeguarding Adults Level 3' module covers topics including:
  • understanding the importance of safeguarding adults, who may be an adult with safeguarding needs and the types and possible indicators of abuse and neglect
  • recognising safeguarding is a shared responsibility, with a need for effective joint working between professionals, healthcare staff, agencies and organisations
  • the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • raising concerns if abuse is suspected or disclosed
  • risk assessment and management, record keeping, information sharing
  • collecting and preserving evidence
  • the purpose of strategy discussions and meetings, including who will be present and their individual responsibilities the investigation process and Safeguard Planning
  • the role and responsibilities of the chair for multidisciplinary meetings and the aims of the meeting.
