Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training (Part 1 of 2) – AICC elfh Link Now Available
Blue Stream Academy is pleased to announce that ‘The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism © Part 1 of 2’ is now available to complete via AICC link on the:
- GP eLearning and Management platform
- Health & Social Care eLearning and Management platform
- Hospice eLearning and Management platform
- Dental eLearning and Management platform
- Private and Urgent Care eLearning and Management platform.
What is an AICC link?
An AICC learning standard link allows eLearning content on different training platforms (for example, e-lfh) to be linked and communicate with external Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Blue Stream Academy’s eLearning and Management platform.
What does the new AICC link mean?
Seamless Oliver McGowan Training Access via Blue Stream Academy
Blue Stream Academy’s eLearning and Management platforms now link to the official Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training, created by NHS England. The AICC link is directly to the training course hosted on e-lfh; however, the certificate will be held on our system as proof of completion.
What is the OIiver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism?
Named after Oliver McGowan, a young gentleman whose death sadly bought to light the requirement for increased health and social care staff skills, knowledge and understanding of the needs of autistic people and people living with a learning disability.
Developed by NHS England NHS England and hosted on the elearning for healthcare platform, the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism has been developed in two tiers, both being delivered in two parts. For both tiers, the first part consists of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism Part 1 of 2 eLearning course.
The second part differs dependant on the training tier; for tier 1, a live 1 hour online interactive session should be completed, for tier 2, individuals must attend a 1-day face to face training course.
Tier 1 of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism has been developed for anyone who requires a general awareness of the support autistic people or people with a learning disability may need.
Tier 2 of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism has been developed for anyone who might provide care and support for autistic people or people with a learning disability.
How long does this training take?
e-lfh advise the Part 1 eLearning course should take around 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete. The course is split into 6 sections, and has been mapped to the Tier 1 learning outcomes of the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting Autistic People and the Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting People with a Learning Disability.

Simply head over to Staff > Manage Profiles to add this eLearning to your staff training profiles.

Automatic Certificate Access
After completing the eLearning, a certificate will be automatically generated and made accessible in the Training Records > Training Passport section. Alongside this, evidence of the course completion will be saved in the training reports and on each individuals training passport.
