Following the success of our earlier updates, we’re thrilled to share the third instalment in our refreshed course series. This release introduces new, dynamic content, simplified structures, and hands-on interactive elements, all crafted to make your learning journey more engaging, effective, and enjoyable.

Our Updated Interactive Healthcare Training Courses Include:

Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Human Rights

Formerly known as our Equality and Diversity training course, this updated course reflects the wider themes of inclusion and human rights. It explores why these principles are vital in health and social care, highlights key legislation such as the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998, and discusses issues including health inequalities, unconscious bias, and microaggressions. The course also addresses culturally appropriate care, responding to bullying and harassment, and taking positive action to challenge discrimination and promote inclusivity.

Health, Safety and Welfare

Previously titled Principles of Health and Safety, this training course has been refreshed and renamed Health, Safety and Welfare. It explains the importance of reducing workplace risks and raising awareness of safety issues, while covering essential topics such as health and safety law, risk assessments, accidents, sudden illness, and workplace hazards. Learners will also explore moving and assisting, handling medication, hazardous substances, fire safety, and conflict resolution, as well as how to work securely both on-site and from home. The course also outlines the welfare facilities that employers are expected to provide.

Infection Prevention and Control – Tier 1

This course introduces the principles of safe practices that help to prevent or reduce infections in health and care settings. It covers individual responsibilities, understanding infection and transmission, and ways infection can be prevented. The course emphasises the importance of standard infection control precautions (SICPs), which must be followed by all staff, in all settings, at all times, for all service users.

Infection Prevention and Control – Tier 2

Tier 2 provides further detail on infection prevention and control. It covers individual responsibilities, infection transmission, and prevention, while reinforcing the importance of standard infection control precautions (SICPs). Learners will also explore antimicrobial resistance and transmission-based precautions (TBPs), understanding how different transmission routes and infections require specific approaches. Tier 2 is designed for staff working directly with, or providing care to, individuals in health and social care environments.

Working in a Person-centred Way

This course explores what it means to place the individual at the centre of care and support. It introduces the person-centred values that underpin good practice, highlighting their role in promoting dignity, respect, and wellbeing. Learners will gain an understanding of personalised care planning, recognising changing needs, and supporting individuals to plan for the future. The course also covers the principles of mental capacity, including relevant legislation, advance statements, and advance decisions, alongside the wider importance of promoting wellbeing.

Recommended Retake Guidelines

While these courses have been refreshed, the core learning outcomes and assessments are unchanged, so retaking them is not immediately necessary. However, organisations may choose to have staff complete the updated versions sooner if they wish.
