Decontamination of Dental Instruments eLearning Module – NOW LIVE
What does this module cover?
The module highlights the importance of thorough decontamination, adhering to key guidelines like HTM 01-05 to safeguard patients and staff. It offers insights into best practices for instrument decontamination and stresses the need for regular equipment maintenance and testing, ensuring a safe and compliant dental environment. It encompasses a range of tasks such as manual cleaning, utilisation of ultrasonic baths, operation of washer-disinfectors, autoclaves, sterilisation processes, transporting the dental instruments and more.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for clinical staff members engaged in the process of decontaminating dental instruments.
Dental Erosion and Tooth Wear eLearning Module - COMING SOON
What does this module cover?
The module is designed to identify the different types of tooth wear and their underlying causes. We examine the visual indicators of tooth wear and erosion, delving into the reasons behind their occurrence, with a focus on dietary factors.
We highlight the critical role of education in the prevention of tooth wear and erosion, whilst also looking at strategies to prevent and delay the progression of tooth wear and erosion across the general population.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for dental professionals, dentists, hygienists, practice managers and practice nurses.
What to Expect During a CQC Inspection eLearning Module - COMING SOON
What does this module cover?
The module has been created to assist dental care professionals in understanding the purpose of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the reasons behind a practice inspection. The module also provides regulatory information, guidance on preparing for a CQC inspection, the aspects that are evaluated, and what a typical inspection day might look like.
The module meets two of the GDC’s Development Outcomes:
- B – Effective management of self and effective management of others or effective work with others in the dental team, in the interests of patients; providing constructive leadership where appropriate.
- C – Maintenance and development of knowledge and skill within your field of practice.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for anyone working in a dental practice in England who might be involved in a CQC inspection, whether directly as a care provider or indirectly in a support role. Particularly useful for those who are involved in the management and operation of the dental practice, such as practice managers and lead clinicians who are responsible for compliance and quality assurance within their practices.
Smoking Cessation eLearning Module - COMING SOON
What does this module cover?
The module aims to educate the learner on the dangers of smoking and the benefits of quitting and includes information on how smoking increases the risk of oral cancer, and how smoking has a direct impact on periodontal disease. It also provides guidance on how patients can be supported on their journey to seeking help and becoming smoke free.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for all staff members, to gain confidence in providing smoking cessation guidance to patients.
Legionella Awareness eLearning Module - COMING SOON
What does this module cover?
The module explains what legionella is, where legionella bacteria can be found, and the importance of minimising the risks associated with Legionella. It also provides guidance on risk assessment, responsibilities, and requirements of COSHH. The module also provides information on Legionnaires’ Disease, the symptoms, causes, and how the disease can be treated.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for all staff members, however, does include some information that may only be relevant for staff members involved in the risk assessment and prevention of legionella bacteria.
Waste Management eLearning Module - COMING SOON
What does this module cover?
The module explains the importance of dealing with waste adequately, from the moment of production to the moment of collection for destruction or disposal. The module explains good waste management practices, the safe disposal of waste, as well as types of waste, waste colour codes, and correct disposal.
Who should take this module?
Suitable for all staff members to gain an understanding of their responsibilities related to waste management.
