Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme 2024

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, a trio of Blue Stream Academy team members; Jack, Stuart, and Craig, dedicated their time and efforts to support the Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme.
Nestled just under 15 miles from our offices, Treetops provides assistance to individuals facing illnesses like cancer, motor neurone disease, and multiple sclerosis. Their compassionate services not only reach the patients but also extend to caregivers and families, all provided without any financial burden. To fuel their noble operations, the hospice strives for an annual budget exceeding £4.3 million, equivalent to approximately £12,000 per day. Charitable donations and fundraising events play a pivotal role, covering a remarkable 70% of Treetops' annual budget.
Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme: The Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme is an annual event that provides an environmentally friendly and community-driven solution for disposing of Christmas trees. In collaboration with volunteers, the scheme collects used Christmas trees and recycles them, reducing waste and providing vital donations towards the hospices upkeep.
Blue Stream Academy's Involvement: Jack, Stuart, and Craig from Blue Stream Academy joined hands with Treetops Hospice to contribute to this meaningful cause. Their voluntary participation is a testament to the company's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

"I had a fantastic time getting involved in the Treetops Hospice Treecycling campaign with Blue Stream Academy. Volunteering felt great, we nailed the recycling game, and it was a genuinely enjoyable day embracing our inner eco-warriors. Here's to making the world a bit greener, tree by tree!" stated Jack, a dedicated member of the Blue Stream Academy team.
The Day of Volunteering: The day started with the Blue Stream Academy team arriving at the Treetops Hospice in Risley, Derbyshire with enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose. Equipped with protective gear, the Blue Stream Academy van, and a can-do attitude, Jack, Stuart, and Craig set out to collect and recycle Christmas trees across their dedicated portion of the county.
Stuart, reflecting on the experience, shared, "It was great to be able to support the Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme along with my colleagues; helping to raise money for a very worthwhile cause whilst contributing to an environmentally-conscious and community-focused event."

The Impact on the Community: Blue Stream Academy's staff and other volunteers have made significant contributions to the success of the Treecycling Scheme, benefiting both the environment and Treetops Hospice. The scheme raised over £18,000, providing 1,416 hours of nursing care, and recycled 1,100 trees in total. A huge well done to all involved at Treetops Hospice for organising another fantastic event!
Conclusion: Blue Stream Academy's staff members, Jack, Stuart, and Craig, exemplify the spirit of community service and corporate social responsibility. Their participation in the Treetops Hospice Treecycling Scheme serves as an inspiration for individuals to actively engage in initiatives that make a positive impact on the community. As we reflect on their volunteering efforts, we are reminded that small acts of kindness can collectively create a significant and lasting effect on the well-being of others.
