We've caught up with some of our extraordinary staff members to get a glimpse into their worlds and glean insights into how they've carved their paths in the professional realm.

First up, let's meet Courteney, a creative powerhouse and in-house Graphic Designer, who's been sprinkling her magic at Blue Stream Academy for six fantastic years. Courteney's journey began with a degree in media production, igniting her passion for visual storytelling. She seamlessly transitioned into the world of graphic design, fuelled by her fascination with blending art and problem-solving. When the opportunity to join Blue Stream arose, Courteney leaped at the chance, ready to infuse her creativity into our dynamic team.

Say hello to Ellie, a familiar voice you might have encountered during our training webinars or customer support interactions over the past five years. Ellie's career trajectory took her from the heart of a care home's kitchen to the forefront of customer support at Blue Stream. Driven by her innate desire to help others, Ellie found her niche in training and supporting customers, seamlessly blending her love for healthcare and education.

Next up, meet Natasha, one of our vivacious Customer Support Assistant who's been supporting of our wonderful support and training team for nearly two years now. Natasha's journey started as a healthcare assistant, where her passion for helping others blossomed. Joining Blue Stream was a natural progression, allowing her to channel her energy into making a difference in customers' lives.

Jade, our Content Development Manager extraordinaire, has been weaving her magic at Blue Stream for over a decade. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating impactful content, Jade's journey from the initial Blue Stream Academy setup team to content development epitomises dedication and growth.

Now, meet Marcus, our maestro of Software Development, whose journey from a BSc in Neuroscience to coding wizardry showcases the power of following one's passions. Marcus's career path meandered through various industries, each stop shaping his expertise until he found his true calling at Blue Stream.

Alex, our Senior Software Developer, found his footing through customer service, gradually transitioning into his current role excelling within the technical software side of the organisation. His journey over the past 10 years is a testament to the power of seizing opportunities and continually evolving.

Last but certainly not least, we have Dan, our newest addition to the team, who's already making waves as a Marketing Assistant. Dan's journey from bookkeeping to marketing exemplifies the importance of following one's curiosity and passion.

What inspires and motivates our team?

For Courteney, it's the thrill of bringing ideas to life through design. Ellie finds fulfilment in helping customers navigate our systems, while Natasha cherishes the opportunity to make a difference. Jade's passion lies in creating modules that make an impact, while Marcus thrives on problem-solving in the world of software development. Alex finds joy in seeing completed modules reach users worldwide, while Dan's fascination with marketing fuels his drive to excel.

We were intrigued to find out what about team would advice to anyone considering or starting a career similar to their role. Here’s what they had to say:

Courteney: My advice (and tips!) to someone starting their career in Graphic Design would be to keep exploring and pushing boundaries. Build a diverse portfolio that highlights your skills and versatility. Embrace feedback and learn to take criticism from peers—it all helps you grow. Stay updated on trends and technology; while anyone can design using online tools and platforms, having strong skills and knowledge sets you apart. Connect with fellow designers and stay open to new opportunities. Above all, hold onto your passion and creativity!

Ellie: I would advise to always work hard and always take up the opportunity to gain more experience and responsibility when and where you can. Always be keen to learn and widen your knowledge.

Natasha: Everyday you learn something new! Do not be afraid to make mistakes.

Jade: Throughout the content development process, always take into consideration the end user.

Marcus: It’s a good idea to work on a software development project in your own time as that demonstrates that you have a wider interest in the subject and have taken the initiative to learn. Prior to interviews, think of a few good examples from your own experience that cover the sorts of things that will be asked at an interview and then you have those examples to draw on during the interview. When going for a job interview see it as a 2-way process as in you are there to interview them too, so it helps to be prepared and have some good questions to ask about their business.

Dan: For newcomers entering the field of marketing, my suggestion would be to expose yourself to marketing materials. Whether it's subscribing to company newsletters, following them on social media, or exploring various resources. It's a great way to build your knowledge base and develop a deeper understanding of the industry.

A work-life balance is key

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is essential for our team. Courteney sets boundaries and prioritises self-care, while Ellie stays organised to make time for loved ones and hobbies. Natasha finds solace in nature and quality time with family, while Jade emphasises teamwork and communication. Marcus unwinds with hobbies outside of work, while Dan prioritises relaxation to stay energized and motivated.
