New Visual Impairments in Older People CPD eLearning Module

Blue Stream Academy Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of our new ‘Awareness of Visual Impairments in Older People’ module.

This module covers the statistics and prevalence of visual impairments in older people, and how to support people with visual impairments including communication, equipment options, everyday tasks and guiding a person with a visual impairment.

The module looks at common causes, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, refractive error, and other health conditions. It also looks at identifying visual impairments in older people and related information on assessment processes and care plans.

Our subsections also cover the health and safety considerations, the risk of slips, trips and falls, and how to identify and resolve any hazards.

This module is now live on our GP, Dental, Nursing and Care Home, Hospice and Urgent and Tailored Care eLearning suites.
