Blue Stream Academy are pleased to announce the release of their NHS Health Check eLearning module.
The NHS Health Check is a specifically designed check-up for adults in England aged 40-74. It has been designed to spot the early signs of several health issues, including stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia. The checks are made up of 3 components: Risk Assessment, Risk Awareness and Risk Management.
By looking out for these early signs, the NHS can aim to lower the risk of patients developing serious health issues and improve an individual’s health and wellbeing. This Health Check will play a huge part in promoting early identification and management of these conditions and it will reduce behavioural risks associated with these conditions through early clinical interventions.
The programme is designed to be accessible for a wide range of people, however there is a focus on targeting those people who may have a greater health risk. It is also designed to ensure that the tests and measurements needed for the check, can be delivered in a number of different settings.
As well as helping people to live longer, healthier lives, the NHS Health Check Programme is forecasted to save the NHS up to £176 million after 15 years in action.
The NHS Health Check module has been designed to ensure that all staff are aware of what the NHS Health Check Programme is and its purpose within primary care.
This module includes a range of topics, including:
- the key drivers of the Programme
- the three main components of the Programme
- the ambitions of the Programme and what these will help achieve
- explaining how the Programme will improve the health and wellbeing of patients.
